Buyers can express interest in the purchase of a foal by lodging their details with us to be placed on a waiting list for the next available foal. The potential buyer will be informed of when a foal will be available, and this depends on; how many other potential buyers are also on the waiting list ahead of them, when Jennies are due to foal and what the foal’s weaning date will be.
When they reach the top of the list the buyer will be offered the next available foal regardless of sex or colour.
A non refundable deposit of 20% is required for any purchase of Irish and Miniature Donkeys. We then require full payment two weeks prior to animal/s leaving Ashington Park. We accept Direct Deposit /Money Orders, however please be aware that the animal/s will not be able to be removed from our property until payment in full is received and funds have cleared into our account.
Agistment will be charged on all adult donkey sales. The cost for this charge will be $20 per week. In regard to foal sales agistment will be charged from 3 months of age, at a charge of $20 per week. We regret that this charge applies, but until the drought breaks we have no choice.
If you are unable to collect your new addition/s on the agreed date then it may be necessary for us to charge an agistment fee of $5 per day to pay for feeding and housing of the animal/s. Any animal left on our property remains the responsibility of the owner at all times and it is recommended that Livestock Insurance coverage be arranged.
Securing foal(s) prior to their birth.
We offer a holding deposit system, where you the buyer can place a $100 refundable deposit on a nominated a jenny in foal. This ensures that you are given first offer on that foal once born. The $100 forms part of the 20% deposit.
Sale of Foals
Once a foal is offered for sale, the buyer is to pay a deposit (20% of sale price), agistment fees (agistment is charged from 3 months of age and is $20 per week) are to be paid once the foals turns three months of age. The balance of the sale price (sale total price minus deposit) is to be paid in full into our nominated bank account 2 weeks prior to departure from Ashington Park. Other arrangements can be made in terms of payment frequency.
It is important that you choose your new pets wisely as we DO NOT offer a refund on your purchase. Ashington Park reserves the right to withdraw a sale at anytime, in which case a full refund will be given. We are confident that all our animals that are sold are in excellent health and sell them accordingly. All donkeys are sold with full registration with the American Donkey and Mule Society as well as micro chipping. Soundness certificates can be supplied at purchases expense.

*Approved Breeders are breeders that are recognised by Ashington Park and are members of a Donkey Society.
Ashington Park Stud recommends that you fully research the requirements of owning a Irish Donkey. There is a great deal of information on various donkey websites and your local vet should be able to offer further information on the care of your animal. We also recommend that you contact your local council regarding their requirements for owning livestock.
Please note that during transport Donkeys require more space than horses. Their particular requirements limit the type of vehicle that can be used over long distances. With this in mind Ashington Park recommends and uses a limited number of transport companies. These companies allow us to transport our animals locally, nationally and internationally. Ashington Park can assist in arranging transport with these companies. The use of these companies will ensure that your animal arrives happy and healthy. These companies include:
